Since starting his own Retrofit imprint Jay Shepheard has firmly stamped his mark on Electronic Music. The label has become a go to for quality sounds giving Jay the platform to explore full and floorworthy sound that perks the interest of house, disco and techno fans alike.

Recently getting back into vinyl, his live/DJ sets are much anticipated showcases of Jay's tastes, where a dusty 90s garage record sits comfortably next to his own fresh productions, live favourites and todays floor fillers. 

Following a long background in music from playing in high school bands to working in music PR and several years working at UK online music store Juno, Jay Shepheard first arrived on the scene in 2007 with the release of his debut EP "Black Label #19" on Compost.
 
Strong DJ support for the EP gave Jay a good profile straight off the bat, which was built upon nicely with the follow-up EPs "Black Label 28", released in December 07 and "Black Label 34" in June 08. These first EPs received critical acclaim from DJs, music lovers and the press alike and earned Jay a nomination for Best Deep House act of 2007 in the Beatport Music Awards.

Now, over three years since the debut, Jay Shepheard is firmly established as a leading player in the new wave of electronic music. In 2008 and 2009 Jay was branching out from his home label at Compost to release original productions and remixes on high profile labels including Diynamic, Four:Twenty, Glimpse and Juno. These releases have consistently found thier way into the best seller lists of all the major stores as well as the charts of A list DJs. 

In 2010 Jay launched his own label imprint Retrofit. With an ear for the past and an eye on the future the label will marry classic electronic musical themes of acid house, disco, vintage techno and anything in between with current dance floor sound and concepts. The first release, a 4 tracker from Jay, was released in Febuary 2010 and was followed by some hot collaborations to follow later in the year.

Outside of the studio Jay has also built a reputation in the booth, playing both DJ and live sets all over Europe in some of the leading venues including Fabric in London, Goa in Madrid, Watergate in Berlin and Monza in Frankfurt to name just a few.  Outside of Europe Jay regularly tours Australia taking in shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane....

Table at a height of 1.5m and at least 1.5m x 1.5m.
1.5m x 1.5m free in DJ booth for laptop, midi control, mouse mat, soundcard and cables.

1x stereo line channel in mixer or club desk
2 x High quality monitor speakers (levels of which can be changed by the DJ) placed left and right of the DJ

PLEASE NOTE: Jay Shepheard performs with TRAKTOR SCRATCH. If the club is not already equipped with this, a sound check BEFORE the club opens will be necessary.
