Andy Blake appeared on most people's radar in 2007 with his short-lived and much loved Dissident label. Dedicated to releasing single-sided 200 copy limited edtions, this innovative imprint released over 60 records in just over 2 years and gave many now well-known underground artists their first break including Hardton, Gatto Fritto, Cage & Aviary, Photonz and Binary Chaffinch among others.

By this time Andy had already been DJing for the best part of two decades and had amassed a fearsome arsenal of amazing records to dance to from the last 40 years. This meant that when interest in the label led to him being booked to DJ he could always be relied upon to set dancefloors alight and create great atmospheres.

Andy only plays vinyl when he DJ's because he feels that music played from well-made 12"s sounds better than any other medium when cranked up loud in a club. Currently he runs the mysterious World Unknown underground monthly party in Brixton, London, which is dedicated to the noble art of 'throbbing electronic music for dancing' and also has its own record label which releases modern incarnations of the music played at the club. He also releases his own pure analogue house and techno explorations on his Cave Paintings imprint.

As well as this he DJs regularly as a guest at all kinds of places from hallowed halls of house and techno such as Fabric, Panorama Bar, The Robert Johnson and Glasgow's Sub Club to all manner of small, sweaty basements.

In short Andy loves to spend as much time as possible playing the music that sounds good on the big speakers, delivering his dancefloor voodoo to clubs full of smiling faces and jacking bodies.
